Parkinson’s Voice

KT Warren developed and launched Level 2 of her holistic voice work class at the start of this year. Both classes take a lively and yoga-esque approach to voice work for Parkinson’s Disease. Warren, a former actor and yoga instructor, developed the work after training with John Argue and Carol Fisher, and watching her father’s struggle with PD and speech.
She feels it is equally important to strengthen the muscles that make speech loud and clear and the muscles of being in community and having fun. “A lot of people with Parkinson’s can become isolated, and left out of conversation,” Warren explains. “It’s imperative that people learn the steps to making themselves heard and seen, so they can stay active participants in their lives and in their communities.”
  • Level 1 is for people who are newer to voice work, and those who need to practice how to generate healthy sound.
  • Level 2 is for people who can already make sound consistently, and can read comfortably off a page.
